Heartwarming Valentine's Day Crafts!

Updated: May 25

What better way to show your love for another than with a handmade creation! We are so excited to show you some fun and heartfelt DIY crafts! These work great as a classroom activity, or an at-home making experience for you and your family!

Be-Mine Stuffies!

We all know the sweet be mine heart candies, but what if you turned those into soft and unique stuffies! Grab your sewing kit, hot glue, and your favorite fabric to personalize your very own homemade heart.

What You Will Need:

  • Fabric (Valentine’s colors and patterns are great!)

  • Scissors

  • Sewing needle

  • Thread

  • Stuffing

  • Hot glue

  • Yarn or decorative trim

Instructions:

  1. Gather up your favorite fabrics and be sure to grab those Valentine’s colors and patterns!

  2. Trace out two hearts on your selected fabric, and cut these out.

  3. Pin the 2 pieces of fabric together, being sure to place the fabric together so that when turned inside out – the design is on the outside!

  4. Sew around the edge of the heart, leaving a gap that you will then use to turn your heart inside out. This will hide the stitch!

  5. Grab your stuffing and fill up your heart – and then stick it closed!

  6. Next, you can decorate your heart by adding a decorative trim with hot glue, or adding buttons or words. Take inspiration from your Be-Mine Valentine’s candies!

It’s Raining Hearts!

Spring is the season for rain, but also Valentine’s Day – so let’s celebrate with Raining Hearts! This craft will brighten up your space with homemade hearts. Customize these with your own art style as you spend time making with your loved ones!

What You Will Need:

  • Colorful craft paper

  • Scissors

  • Yarn or decorative trim

  • Glue/tape

  • Oil pastels or crayons

  • Pencil

Instructions:

  1. Select your craft paper for your hearts. Pinks, reds, and any of your favorite colors!

  2. Trace many hearts to fill up a few sheets of paper.

  3. Using the oil pastels or crayons, draw on abstract designs (or better known as scribble scrabbles!) across the entire paper.

  4. Cut out each individual heart, and gather into a pile.

  5. Using the glue or tape, secure the hearts onto the yarn or decorative trim. With additional hearts, add hearts onto the back to create double sided designs!

  6. Repeat until you have as many strings of Raining Hearts as you would like, and hang them up in your home or classroom to spread love and kindness!

We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day full of love, kindness, and art!
