Homemade Pride Flags!
What better way to celebrate Pride than with something made from the heart! This craft is the perfect way to use up some fabric scraps to create something that you can wave proudly at a parade, or hang up in your house!
What You Will Need:
Fabric in all colors of the rainbow
Popsicle sticks
Hot Glue
Scissors
Sewing Machine or needle for hand sewing
Thread
Pins
Instructions:
Collect your fabric pieces to make sure you have every color of the rainbow! Feel free to try out other flag designs, and experiment with colors and patterns!
Cut each color into a strip of the same size, and pin each piece to the next color with front sides facing each other. This will allow for a clean seam on the front of your flag!
When you have pinned all your pieces into place, sew them together by hand or with a sewing machine
Next, cut out any patchwork designs, such as the triangle shapes seen in the image above! Pin these into place on the flag
Sew your patchwork down, and now you can hem the edges of your flag! This is simply folding over the edges of your flag and sewing them to create smooth edges.
Glue on your popsicle sticks to the edge of your flag, and you're all done! Have a wonderful Pride!
Rainbow SunCatcher
Shine bright like a diamond! This project will bring color into your space with rainbows created by a sunlight prism. As sunlight passes through the prism, it refracts rainbows into your space! Make this Rainbow Sun-catcher your own by decorating it with beads and colorful popsicle sticks!
What You Will Need:
Rainbow Prism Charms
Beads
Yarn
Popsicle Sticks
Hot glue
Coloring Supplies
Scissors
Instructions:
Begin by cutting yarn to the length you desire for your sun-catcher!
Tie your yarn onto your Rainbow Prism Charms, and collect your beads for the next step
Add beads onto the yarn to create a unique design on your sun-catcher! This can be repeated with as many pieces of yarn as you would like!
Tie off your yarn onto a small metal loop, and set this to the side
Grab your three popsicle sticks, and color them to add fun designs and patterns!
Place each metal loop through one of the popsicle sticks, or hot glue the ends of your yarn to the popsicle sticks
Hot glue the ends of each popsicle stick together so that you have a triangle shape.
Tie three pieces of yarn to your triangle at each point, and tie the other ends together to create a loop of yarn where your sun catcher will hang from
You're all done! Hang up your project near a window with bright sunlight, and watch as rainbows fill up your room!
Pride Clay Earrings
Gorgeous! Not sure what earrings to wear to show off your pride? Make your own! This craft is a simple way to brighten up your look with a unique splash of color! Grab some clay, and get ready to make!
What You Will Need:
Colorful oven bake clay
Earring hooks and wires
Jewelry Plier
Clay tools (optional)
Instructions:
Collect your earring making materials and oven bake clay
Roll your clay into smaller shapes, and experiment with designs you can create by combining different colors!
To make a rainbow, roll out each color in small lines, press the lines together, and bend your rainbow until you reach the desired shape!
Add a small hole in your clay at the top of each design, and follow your clay packaging instructions to bake your pieces in the oven
Carefully remove your pieces from the oven, allow them to cool, and add your earrings hooks on with jewelry pliers and wire
All done, you did great! Time to show off your new earrings!
